Darts

The Tennant Creek Darts Association has grown to be one of the most successful sports associations in Tennant Creek. Every year we run a variety of competitions catering for players of all levels of ability. Currently we are well into our Summer Handicap season on Thursday nights where all players are given a handicap relating to the average per dart score. This gives the opportunity for all players to be fairly evenly matched and some upsets have already been lodged. We are also running a Super League on Tuesday nights which is also proving to be a night of great darts. Tennant Creek have been very well represented at the state level with Tennant creek players making the state team for last 8 years. This year we are hosting the State Trials and NT championships over Easter. About 12 Tennant players are intending to trial this year and all are playing well so we should be well represented once again. Darts in Tennant Creek is a well run successful sport evidenced by the over 90 players competing every week, the holding of the annual Golden Nugget Classic Tournament held every December offering $14,000 dollars in prize money and attracting some of the best players from round the country. If you would like to play darts and have missed out on being in a team call into one of the venues on a Thursday evening and make it known you are looking for a game and we will take it from there.
