Is your
regular beer looking
Very Boring?

We invited some regular beer drinkers to appraise a generous selection of imported beers. The Headframe supplied the goods and once again Pete was on hand to make sure everyone kept their head

Asahi (JAPAN)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:
"Crisp on the palate, very light, reminiscent of light Bavarian hopped. Is this a hop beer? Not too much of this. A very slight 'back of the mouth' flavour.
How it rates: Average
Heath Eaves, Steven Rankin and Tony Pedersen:
"Crispy and dry. A slab would be easy to knock over."
How it rates: Quite good
Stewy, Suzi and Darren:
Suzi and Dazz - "Quite like Carlton Cold." Suzi - "I'm too busy eating okay!"
How it rates: Quite good
Adam Randall:
"Dry, crisp, elegant flavour with a light taste."
How it rates: Quite Good

Sol (MEXICO)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:
"A fine appearing bottle but a quick disappearing head. Brisk nose but bland. Perhaps reliant upon a lemon or a slice of kaffir lime."
How it rates: Not for me
Heath Eaves, Steven Rankine and Tony Pedersen:
"Maybe with a lemon but not for us - tasteless."
How it rates: Not for me
Stewy Lynch, Suzi Pledger and Dazza Schirmer:
Suzi and Dazz - "Looks like urine! - Corona-like bottle, very light in flavour, needs a lemon or lime twist." Suzi - "I'd drink it just to look cool!"
How it rates: Not for me

Carlsberg (DENMARK)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:
"Uric colour; light nose; nice; little flavour; lingering bitterness."
How it rates: Quite good
Heath Eaves, Steven Rankin and Tony Pedersen:
"A quote from Homer Simpson sums this beer up: "mmmmmmm Beer"!"
How it rates: Love it
Stewy Lynch, Suzi Pledger and Dazza Schirmer:
All - "Very European - heavy flavour." Stewy - "Camel's piss!"
Suzi - "Nah, it tastes alright with a Dorito" Dazz - "So you've tasted camel's piss before have you!"
How it rates: Not for me

Water (PAWA)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:

"Fine colour, plain and unpretentious but a top drink!"
How it rates: Love it

Steinlager (NEW ZEALAND)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:
"Hold its' head reasonably, a bitter nose and immediately bitter. Not a bad beer but maybe for an acquired taste - Baaah! Good if you enjoy a bitter beer."
How it rates: Quite Good - Average
Stewy Lynch, Suzi Pledger and Dazza Schirmer:
All - "Another lightish flavoured beer."
How it rates: Average

Stella Artois (BELGIUM)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:

How it rates: Quite Good
Heath Eaves, Steven Rankine and Tony Pedersen:
"A cheap Premium Ale with a hint of Baygon - (no flies on us)."

How it rates: Average

Newcaste Brown Ale (ENGLAND)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:

How it rates: Very good
Heath Eaves, Steven Rankine and Tony Pedersen:
"Tastes like beef jerky! Looks like the Hunter River during the '55 flood!"
How it rates: Chunderous

How it rates: Dazz and Stewy: Quit Good Suzi: Chunderous

How it rates: Love it

James Boag Premium (AUSTRALIA)
Enver Shabanay, Aardvark Radnik and Robert Trebor:
"Boags is best" was the advertising slogan. Judgement? A huge head - due to clean trout shit in the stream that the water came from. At last - an Ozzie beer. Great. Best so far. We just like Ozzie beer. A moreish beer. One for pleasure - We tried it twice!"

Enver, Aardvark and Robert show off their favourites. Enver and Aardvark, being new to town were a bit coy about being identified.

Adam wouldn't share his beer with anyone.

Sorry fellas, looks like you're up for another carton. Heath, Tony and Steven with their favourites.

Stewy, Suzi and Darren were determined to taste everything going. We left then to put the cat out.
